“Our mission is to use agile project management to change the face of business as we know it,” says Jesse Fewell, Community Manager for the PMI Agile CoP.

The PMI Agile CoP is focusing on building an emerging knowledge base using wikis, blogs, discussion threads and more.  Additional offerings include articles, tools and techniques, links to agile project management literature and more.

Only PMI members can join the PMI Agile CoP. When new members join, they will have the option to choose the PMI Agile CoP at no fee.

Region 12 (Middle East) Comes Together and Plans for Closer Collaboration

Region 12 volunteer leaders plan greater collaboration this year to build on the success of the region leadership meeting in Amman, Jordan on 17-18 June 2009.

Region Component Mentor, Yahya Khader, facilitated learning and sharing among volunteer leaders from the PMI Arabian Gulf Chapter, PMI MENA Chapter, PMI Lebanon Chapter, and PMI Jordan Chapter, as well as a representative from the IT&T SIG.

The major outcomes of the meeting include the formation of a regional committee and proposing a Regional Forum to convene in the fall. The regional committee includes one representative from each chapter to support the region mentor with organizing the region meeting and Region 12 Online Community site.

Another accomplishment was the completion of the Strategic Alignment Scorecard (SAS) by each of the chapters during a SAS workshop. The region mentor facilitated a step-by-step session to better understand the required parts of the SAS.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Strategic Alignment Scorecard (SAS)

From this edition of Friday Facts until the year end, the SAPR team will be answering the most frequently asked questions about the Strategic Alignment Scorecard (SAS)

Why is the SAS important for the component?
All components have to be aligned to the PMI Strategic Plan and the Balanced Scorecard. The PMI SAPR process is a 5 step process that has been developed to ensure this alignment, providing a set of services each of which are associated with a PMI Strategic Plan Objective.

The services that communities can deliver to provide value to members are segmented into core (must be provided by the community) and extended services (additional services that a community may provide to improve value to members). Each core service has a measure and a minimum level the community must provide.

The completion of the SAS is an annual process, so you are reporting what you did in the last year compared to what you forecast for that year. You may be altering the targets you set for future years.

Remember that the date you submit the SAS is the date you must submit it in future years. So, make sure you complete and submit the SAS as soon as possible. Please submit all scorecards to SAPRreporting@pmi.org.

More information on the SAPR process and SAS is available in the Announcements section of the Community Leadership Online Community. Please contact Community Development Planner Nichole Ritz for questions.
